Pasta Bake

Preparation

Finely chop the small red onions. Chop the unsmoked bacon. Finely slice the celery. Cook the penne pasta. Finely chop the parsley. Grate the Cheddar cheese.

Method

  1. 1 Gently fry the onion, bacon and celery in the oil until softened.
  2. 2 Add the pasta sauce plus a splash of water. Stir through the cooked pasta and transfer to an ovenproof dish or individual dishes.
  3. 3 Mix the breadcrumbs with the parsley and sprinkle over the pasta.
  4. 4 Scatter the cheese generously over the top and bake at 200°C/400°F/gas 6 (180°C for fan ovens) for 10-15 minutes.
